happy summer solstice! what are you casting on?

today is the first day of summer in the northern hemisphere and while summertime is not often associated with knitwear (at least not in the southern united states), i still find myself reaching for my next project. without fail, almost every summer i catch myself in a bit of a slump – sometimes this manifests as a much-needed break and sometimes it’s a lack of artistic inspiration. but this summer i’m trying to channel my creative energy along with the season: knitting and crocheting what inspires me as the days grow longer and the humidity gets thicker. that’s why i wanted to share with you today six different knitting projects (and one crochet!) that have me excited to look for yarn and reach for my needles (or hook) during this season.
